Input Business Guidance

Establishing Your Business

Valuable life lessons for small business owners and managers, as well as employees.

Our Vision

My retirement from, and sale of, my last “daily” enterprise left me with a “where-to-now?” feeling. To sum up my business journey, I was an adrenaline-charged “homemade” guy. Spiritual life seemed unfulfilling. So, for many years, I had two, or three, or sometimes even more enterprises going at a time. I liked working for others. And believe me, I answered to a variety of employers. Mostly positive experiences. A few not so positive. Their ways intrigued me. The school of life and the variety of teachers I had, both impressed me and influenced my management skills. Here I am. Retired earlier than I had planned to. What could I contribute? My mind traveled down my Life’s journey. I asked advice. I prayed. And Input Business Guidance was born.

Introductions

I’m not good with grammar, nor am I very good with organizing paperwork. I endorse delegation. Now it’s time to delegate. Stewart Goossen and family own Beaver Creek Printing in Saskatchewan. They were recommended as candidates for this venture. Stewart and I were aware of each other, but you could call it only vaguely familiar. Vaguely. We are polar opposites. I push right and left. Stewart sets his face like a flint and heads on through. We share a love for a job well-done. Nealda Penner, another Saskatchewanian, brings with her many years of experience in the corporate world. Stewart is her nephew. Now I have two anchors. Annette, our daughter, who, like Nealda, is Mrs. Organized, a reader, a used-to-be school teacher; and has the capacity to straighten out her Dad. So, I write and scheme. My wife Lucille, at 5 foot one ‘n ¾, keeps me on track (never underestimate a woman). Nealda and Annette edit. Stewart, his wife Ruth, and their junior partners, Kieran and Kyler, are the Publishers. I love people and enjoy asking tough questions of them. I have a host of friends. These friends have guided me. The course is truly a group effort. Stewart says there’s none other like it. Not better, not worse, but a different tack.

What to Expect

A small class. Maximum 15 people. Lots of long breaks. Fabulous food (five-star food). Long lunch and dinner breaks. The reason? A restful, unrushed atmosphere; one that encourages heart-to-heart learning.
We cover the entire spectrum. Our presentations are detailed. We will go as deep as you wish to. We will challenge you. We will not cram the 10 Commandments of Business into your head. We will not make a list of do’s and don’ts. There are a hundred audios and self-improvement books out there for that. Their message is similar. Their covers vary.
We will defend our position. And qualify it. We will, however, leave room that we may not understand you and your circumstances.
Maybe, just maybe, it’s going to feel a little bit like Boot Camp, but at breaktime you can share your feelings and find your own direction.

Establishing Your Business

This Course is directed toward business, but it is not meant to be a summary of my lifetime in business. I am attempting to take a lifetime of learning and condense it into a thought-provoking tutorial. I hope to positively influence both the instructor and student for the remainder of their lives.
